Maggie8 - Merry Christmas One And All

Merry Christmas One And All by Maggie8

Wow, it's getting real christmassy round Normo-towers! I fucking love christmas!!! I'm chomping down mince pies with santantic glee and perusing the first of (what i'm sure will be...) many festive single releases. I've lucked out here with a four track chrimmo EP 'Merry Christmas One And All' from Maggie8 (featuring Mark Wright of Hood and other such outfits) and boy oh boy it's christmassyyy....I didn't even know the spirit of christmas could be invoked using a humble musical tool such as the banjo but these kids knows what they're doing, crafting epic and magically festive tunnery with a little help from Santa and his troup of xmas elves. Lead track 'Christmas Song' is a beautifully crafted melody that kinda reminds me of Panda Bear/Animal Collective and other such characters. With big backing vocals, smatterings of brass, strings, chimes and the obligatory shaky bells (of course) i feel like i'm in a utopian christmas dream you guys. Schweet.

Maggie8 have taken a break from recording their debut album to record an EP of festive good will to all men, ladies, children, cats and dogs.
There are four beautifully wrapped presents under the music tree here for your listening pleasure. The imaginatively titled "Christmas Song"
reminds us what the whole season of christmas is all about; and thats the kids man. "sold as a Lullaby" is great music to look out on floaty snow falling in a
snowy field to. If it doesnt snow, a blank piece of paper might work. Maggie8 follow with "Land Ahoy" which is like a much better "driving home for Christmas".
"Dont be forsaken" is the christmas satsuma at the bottom of your stocking coming in at a minute and half. Petite and sweet.
