Erland And The Carnival - Trouble In Mind

Trouble In Mind by Erland And The Carnival

Brian is well into the forthcoming Erland & The Carnival album. So much so he said he's reviewing the album and he dumped the single in my pile thinking I'd be able to do it some sort of justice. In case you don't know who they are they're Simon Tong (from The Verve, The Good The Bad The Queen) and Nick Nock (drummer who's worked with Macca on The Fireman project thing he does) and a fella called Erland surprisingly. They do a modern take on late 60's pop and it works pretty well. The chaps vocals (Erland I presume) sound a wee bit like Tim Booth from James at times. 'Trouble In Mind' is catchy and well put together. You can hear they've spent some time on this and that's always a good thing. Now freshly signed from Static Caravan to Full Time Hobby! Top pop music!

Erland And The Carnival features Simon Tong
(The Verve / The Good The Bad The Queen)
and David Nock (who engineered The
Fireman). They are Uncut‘s ‘Debut Album Of
The Month’ for January and have many other
features and reviews forthcoming.

The band supported The Leisure Society on
three UK dates in November 2009, and are the
main support to Tunng on their UK tour in March
2010.

Available on heavyweight 7” vinyl (500
copies).
