Comanechi have been knocking about for a while now but their presence seems to have been eclipsed by Akiko's other projects The Big Pink and (my fave) PRE. This is a shame cause Comanechi have always been a great group (two piece - guitar and drums) who have the ability to make scuzzy garage rock sound as fresh and energetic as it did way back when. They are basically a bad ass, super tough version of Blood Red Shoes.... Who sound like total grunge pansies in comparison. Crime of Love is total dirge infested rock madness with riffs to kill for! Ace!

Akiko is the drummer for The Big Pink and singer
with underground favourites PRE, who earlier this
year released their Steve Albini-produced album.

Comanechi have recently played with the Yeah
Yeah Yeahs, Klaxons, Gossip and Siouxie Sioux,
who are all also strong supporters and fans of the
band (Hanna from Gossip features on the album).

The band stand out in their uninhibited levels of
energy and highly developed image and artistic
sensibilities.
