Boy of Girl (formally known as Moon Unit) are a Berlin based electronic pop outfit whose work has previously been heard on a showcase of Berlin label Supersoul Recordings output via James Murphy's DFA label. A-side 'Hot Chocolate Boy' is a cold, calculated electro-pop classic concerning boys and bedtime rituals and it's totally sweet. Very much in the vein of early Kraftwerk/Depeche Mode, Boy of Girl also include an excellent vocalist whose warm vocal tones bring a little light to the bleak electro dance tones. B-side Beautiful Face bodes just as well with cool arppegiated synths dominating the mix. Available now from Off the Uncertain Button...really good.* HOT CHOCOLATE BOY is the band’s first single under the new name BOY OF GIRL and marks a progression from their earlier two singles released under the Moon Unit moniker.
