Living Stones by Lunar Temple

Lunar Temple have a CD out - 'Living Stones' - on the fine Dissolving label, home of The Dissolving Orchestra. They are a duo, recorded this 2 track odyssey in Cornwall which sounds like a Kosmiche style musical accompaniment to a particularly eerie, atmospheric episode of Doctor Who from the 70s! You know, old burbling analogue synths; meandering tones & odd frequencies; blanket static; morphing synths & cyber-aquatic effects trapped in multi-dimensional anomalies or something even more preposterous! Some bits convey this ever-present fog of impending menace..... Yes I'm really liking their style here, it certainly falls within the currently popular "hauntological" remit, coming on like this ace future/retro OST to an intergalactic chiller that never got off the ground! Super!!

The third release on Dissolving records is a limited mini-album entitled Living Stones. Continuing the series of solo and collaborative works on the label exploring environmental ambiences and mental landscapes the CD features two Dissolving regulars heading out into lo-fi live electronic improvisations familiar to followers of their output, coupled with nods to the spaces and territories conjured by the Kosmiche and Analogue pioneers of previous generations. Recorded in Cornwall in February 2008 direct to 2-track by the duo it features three tracks (split into an A and B side on the CD) of moonlit synth-tone and clang brewed-up in the atmospheres of the rocky shores and moors of the western-most edge of the country. The cover features artworks by Thomas conceived and painted especially for this release.

The CD has been pressed in an edition of 85.
