This record left our Ant feeling happy.
Who's have thought Harmonia & Eno would be getting the remix treatment from Shackleton as well as Appleblim & Komonazmuk? Well here we go with the '76 Remixes' which is pressed on white vinyl on Amazing Sounds. Sam Shackleton skillfully tackles 'Sometimes In Autumn' with respect for the source material but also injecting it with his own spaced out delay and reverb along with some of his trademark percussion sounds, looping things up into a swirling, hypnotic late night club track. Keeping things fairly minimal, he's a master of restraint, knowing precisely when to leave things alone. The percussion elements I reckon would sound awesome over a big system. I was waiting for a big bassline but that never happened. Appleblim & Komonazmuk get their grubby Bristolion mits on 'By The Riverside' which has a big fat kick drum, again this does really build on the original material which really floats about and wraps itself around the dubstep template very nicely. The deep atmospherics really do the job and I reckon both mixes on here are very well executed. I wonder what Eno, Roedelis, Rother and Moebius would make of it. Limited edition 12".

* In the late summer of 1976 krautrock and electronic music pioneers Harmonia collaborated with Brian Eno to create the now seminal ’Tracks & Traces’ release.
* Following the recent expanded re-release of the album on Groenland Records, London based DJ/producer/ bloggers Allez-Allez are delighted to announce they have commissioned two fresh re-interpretations of the old masters’ work by modern day innovators Shackleton, and Appleblim w/ Komonazmuk to ease the retro futurism of Harmonia & Eno’s compositions onto a tripped out 21st century dancefloor.
* Shackleton’s effort treats the original ambient excursion with respect, adding a motorik dubstep pulse, cavernous reverb and emphasises the melancholy feel with his characteristic eastern twinge, all combining for an unforgetable ride.
* Not to be outdone, Shackleton’s old sparring partner Appleblim combines with Komonazmuk to rerub ’By The Riverside’... Taking a more driving approach, the pair dub out the original, adding skittering hi-hats and alternating between half / double time to devastating effect, the chords building an urgent tension that’s never quite released.
* Both are tracks sure to mesmerise dancefloors from Berlin to Bogota. The first release on Allez-Allez’s new Amazing Sounds imprint.
