James Ferraro - Multitopia

Multitopia by James Ferraro

4...according to our on Fri 11 Sep, 2009.

I was kinda excited when a big box of vinyl arrived from Olde English Spelling Bee over in the US. I've got a few records on the label and have been wanting to get hold of more for quite some time so I'm thrilled to report we're now dealing with them.... Since the "Hypnagogic Pop" article in the Wire a bit ago it seems that James Ferraro's music is increasing in popularity as we've certainly been selling more of his records since the article appeared. Followers of his sound are advised to have a sniff at 'Multitopia' which is now available on vinyl after being a CDr only release on his New Age Tapes label. It takes in some of the new age synth sound he's been doing recently and splices it up with some collage style sampling. It's all real lo-fi and psychedelic sounding like some weird dream or hallucination. Cool stuff as ever and recommended.
