Banned Books - Mission Creep

Mission Creep by Banned Books

4...according to our on Thu 03 Sep, 2009.

Finally from me before I devote the rest of the day to packing Cribs orders is an LP by Banned Books called 'Mission Creep!' (the exclamation point is theirs). I've just got 5 minutes in before Business Lady being very business-like has pointed out i've been playing it at the wrong speed. ok lets start again. The first track has something of the Flaming Lips about it and includes the lesser spotted wasp-stuck-in-a-jar solo. All of a sudden the guitars are cranked up and the record becomes much more shouty. I'm sure one of the others will be better at writing about this. I'm best off with the Bananarama single. I'm going to ask about to see who everyone thinks these sound like....i'll start off with a bit of Sonic Youth..............................oh god i'm devastated to report that no-one has said anything apart from a 'wierd art rock' from Phil and a rogue Nine Inch Nails from Ant. Looks like i'll have to do it myself then......bits of Deerhoof in the fact that the rhythms are odd but much more angular and loud and shouty....Trumans Water maybe.........anyway its limited to 300 copies with hand numbered, silk screened sleeves. On Stumparumper Records.
