This Building Is Under Electronic Surveillance At All Times by Daniel Vincent

5...according to our on Thu 27 Aug, 2009.

'This building is under electronic Surveillance at all times' is the latest outing from composer, producer and multi instrumentalist Daniel Vincent. Recorded over seven days in the peaceful serenity of the english countryside 'This building...' differs from his band projects (The Resonance Association, Safety Deposit Box and Lovers of London) and adds the personal touch. We are treated to electronic beat trickery, process guitar freakouts and a hefty dose of progressive industrial noise. The majority of the tracks presented in this collection create a promisingly eerie atmosphere, such as; 'Norfolkstrasse' and 'Leaving the city'. Other tracks seem a little over indulgent for my liking. The vocal on 'Relate' reminds me of 'In the army now' by Status Quo! I assume this wasn't intented but the reference sort of ruins the vibe of the track for me.....probably shouldn't have mentioned that, don't wanna ruin it for you too. The best track here is 'Meanwhile' which stands alone as a mammoth beast of psychedelic tranquility clocking in at just under 28 minutes. Epic.

Leaving The City (5:18)
Relate (3:22)
Nitetime Magicks (13:21)
Norfolkstrasse (5.15)
Returning To The City (2:31)
Meanwhile (28:32)

Conceived, written and recorded in a week whilst hidden away in the English countryside, This Building Is
Under Electronic Surveillance At All Times sees multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Vincent take
time out from his other musical activities - The Resonance Association, Safety Deposit Box and Lovers of
London - to project a snapshot of his own personal musical world.
The six-track album - running time approximately 60 minutes - pushes the buttons that one would expect
from Vincent’s other projects: industrial pop, heavily processed guitar wig-outs, processed electronic beats
and modern progressive rock, all presented with one of England's most exciting new sonic architects at the
controls.
There are two versions of the album: a free download version (featuring the first five tracks), and a special
deluxe edition CD - in a beautiful Carl Clover-designed digipak - which includes the exclusive track
Meanwhile: a mind altering 28-minute ambient/drone soundscape.
This is Daniel's first solo release since the acoustic EP The Brixton Session (mrs.vee recordings, 2004).
Since the release of his first solo EP, Daniel has founded post-progressive rock band The Resonance
Association with Dominic Hemy and collaborated with pioneering post-industrial group History of Guns,
whilst releasing new music under different guises with his many collaborators.
