VHS Head is new to the resurgent Skam label and his CD single comes in a black jewel case with a sticker on, a gold Video Club card and some braille bits as is their wont. God I miss video shops.. I never did get to rent that copy of Freejack out of Normanton's giant video emporium. It's stuttering, stop-start headache electronica with an oh-so-fashionable obscured 80s feel which'll presumably make it 'hypnogogic electronica' to some tool or other. Phil pretty much hits the nail on the head when he says it sounds like "a more spaced-out Art of Noise". I quite like it, Brian hates it and Phil doesn't seem bothered either way. Take your pick! Skam are proud to introduce new Skam recording artist VHS Head.
Blackpool based artist VHS Head began making music in 1999. Using video tape as the primary sound source and 80's B movies as his inspiration. The music is a collage of vocals, stuttering guitars and drum hits taken from a vast amount of ex-rental videos teleporting the listener back to the golden era of the VHS format.
This budget-priced mini-album is packaged in in limited edition black jewel case, containing a video club membership card.

Record of the year so far. Uplifting and just a little bit frightening...a perfect combination.
