Ambient Temple of Imagination - ATOI

ATOI by Ambient Temple of Imagination

4...according to our on Thu 27 Aug, 2009.

This CD is on Plague Recordings and it comes in one of those plastic A5 sleeves that they do. It's by Ambient Temple of Imagination and it's called ATOI, which I eventually worked out stands for Ambient Temple of Imagination so I've saved you the bother of toiling with that one. It's pretty interesting actually, like some sort of odd ritualistic electro. Maybe a little bit like Muslimgauze or Banco de Gaia gone dark ambient or something. With a little bit of early Zombi thrown in. And The Orb. Ant has mentioned Stargate and Phil has mentioned early ambient techno. We're not struggling for comparisons with this one. It's a comparison conjuror.

Limited edition, housed in A5-jacket. Over 70 minutes of ritual kabbalistic trance. ATOI member Seofon says: "It's the ATOI disc that I've always wanted to see released".

Featuring Johannes Ayres (IAO Core), Joshua Maremont (Thermal), Stephen Kent, Roy Robinson (23 Degrees), vidnaObmana and Mark Wayne (E.A.R.).

The Ambient Temple of Imagination is an open collective dedicated to activating the world's imagination through experimentation.Part ambient-trance group, part holistic listening-music healers,ATOI's Mystery School project was founded in 1992 by Richard Sun andSeofon in San Francisco as they pioneered chill-out sound environmentsfor raves around the area. With introspective chill spaces, ritualperformance art, and spoken-word poetry, ATOI focused on the publicceremonial exploration of magick and sound. This album is the result of a long (2,5 years) but most pleasant'interaction' between Seofon and Plague Recordings. Seofon says: 'It's the ATOI disc I've always wanted to see released'.75 minutes of non-stop ritual kabbalistic trance, featuringguest appearances by Johannes Ayres (IAO Core), Stephen Kent, JoshuaMaremont (Thermal), Roy Robinson (23 Degrees), vidnaObmana, and MarkWayne (E.A.R.).ps. interesting podcast on ATOI history here:http://blogs.myspace.com/index...
