They will not force us. They will not degrade us. We will be victorious...
'Uprising' is the first single to be taken from the bands self produced fifth studio album 'The Resistance'.
The single is the first from Muse since their album 'Black Holes and Revelations', the critically acclaimed, triple platinum selling album that spawned 5 top 20 singles, was nominated for a plethora of awards, including the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, and concluded with two sold out nights at the newly opened Wembley Stadium. In the decade since they released Showbiz, Muse have sold over 8 million albums worldwide, and picked up 5 MTV Europe Awards, 4 Q Awards, 7 NME Awards and 2 Brit Awards along the way. Their 7 date UK tour this November sold out all 95,000 tickets in minutes when they went on sale earlier this year. 'The Resistance' was recorded in Northern Italy, produced by the band themselves and mixed by Mark 'Spike' Stent.

I must say I've never been the biggest Muse fan. I've enjoyed the odd occasional song that I've heard from them, so I really didn't have any expectations whether their new album would be the same. Well it was, and their lead single, Uprising, really didn't do a great deal for me.Musically, it's extremely basic. There really isn't that much to it. I can see how it would be catchy to others though. Lyrically, it's pretty bleh. I do think there were better songs on the new album, but hey, some of those other ones could cause me to get bashed by Muse's hardcore fans.
