David Wenngren is better known as Library Tapes or Mister Library Tapes to you and me. He's started a new label off called Auetic and he's released an album of his works on his new found home!! The music on this album was recorded late at night or in the early hours of the morning when he couldn't sleep hence it being called Sleepless Nights. Me, when I wake up at night I walk around feeling useless and eventually land on the sofa and put some shite telly on until I drift off to bobos land again. I'm nowhere near as creative as David. Fans of Library Tapes will recognise the sound here as there's some lush beautiful moments in this neo classical loveliness. There's strings, pianos and some weird electronics kicking about through various songs. They all blend together lovely like to make a delicious musical soup for your stressed out ears. well worth checking out!Sleepless nights is the debut album by David wenngren, however not the first album he’s been involved in. he’s been releasing music with various other projects and is perhaps most known for his work with Library Tapes. The nine songs of this album were all recorded during late nights and early mornings at a time when Wenngren went through a brief period of insomnia. The music is not that different than his work with Library Tapes but has a more experimental feel to it and Wenngren is putting more focus on strings and computer processing than piano this time , however there’s a couple of stunningly beautiful solo piano songs on the album as well. The cd will be released in a matte finish digipack and is limited to 1000 copies. Recommended if you like: Max richter, Arvo Pärt, Library Tapes, Sylvain Chauveau, Peter Broderick. Tracks 1.
