Melodie Du Kronk - Moxie Carmichael's Secret

Moxie Carmichael's Secret by Melodie Du Kronk

4...according to our on Thu 20 Aug, 2009.

Melodie Du Kronk have a new single out on Great Pop Supplement.. As ever it's amazingly packaged in a psychedelic swirly thing called a sleeve which is hand numbered of 300. It's well nice. Moxie Carmichael's Secret is an odd sounding tune though... When it started I thought it sounded a bit kitsch... as it delves into cheesey exotica. Stick with it though and you'll be treated to a weird kitsch sounding Krautrock epic which takes in elements of Holy Fuck and Cluster and if you're after a comparison it's somewhere in between the afore mentioned folks, Terry & June and Finders Keepers. It's a proper odd little single but it's top fun and it's gonna be one you're gonna pull out over and over again. Well mental cheesepop from the GPS machine!

this one could easily be described as something of a gps curveball 45. following last year's rapid fire -4 day- sell out of the band's debut (LP), the 45 here features 2 tracks of kraut grooves, incessant bubbling moog freakouts like some holy mash up of add n to x, holy fuck Vs. cluster, neu! and co., or some imaginary '70s czech horror flick soundtrack set to an oil wheel backdrop, in tasty psych sleeves, numbered to 300 copies only
