Loren at his most heartbreakingly, reverberating, earth shattering, mind melting, post-everything, pre-nothing, lunar blues best.
Minimalist pangs of guitar, following the pattern of an irregular heart beat. Individual notes ringing upwards and outwards, & left echoing in your ear. Connors has always had a miraculous talent for creating visual manifestations from audio structures.
Side one:
A timeless fourteen-minute long exploration of precariously pinpricked notes laid on a base of medative beauty, all served in a vacuum that will suck the air right out of your lungs. Spacious music drifting out of your speakers and into your soul, exercising all those accumulated demons, and filling you up with a different source of ethereal belonging.
Side two:
Live at the Issue Project in Brooklyn New York, March 28 2007. A slightly more aggressive affair; it will rattle your brain, and leave you pleading for more. The subterranean sound submersing the audience, & resonating around the room, giving a real feel of time & place.
Don’t attribute this to the light of a crescent moon, but more to the light of a universe of stars. Not as immediately bright, but oh so more powerful.
