Jack White! 21st century blues man! 'Fly farm blues' was conceived on the spot at the request of director Davis Guggenheim to make up part of his new Documentary 'It Might get Loud', 'Fly Farm Blues' is improvised blues music recorded on the premises of a Fly Farm so the theme is self explanatory. It's a typically decent Jack White Jam that will no doubt appeal to the White Stripes fans of the world. In the trailer to 'It might get loud' Jack White ponders what might happen when he meets with documentary co-stars Jimmy Page and THE EDGE. His reply is 'Probably a fist fight'......a fist fight my arse!!! I bet they'll discuss styles and techniques in a respectful manner, sign each others plectrums and head out a for an all night bum licking session. I hope they have a guitar duel like the one at the end of Crossroads when Ralph Macchio takes Steve Vai out with a powerful display of awesome blues prowess. This 7" is well limited so if you love Jackie boy then you'd be wise to buy well you can.
“Fly Farm Blues” is a song written on the spot by Jack White at the request of film director Davis Guggenheim while filming the impressive new guitar documentary It Might Get Loud. The film features in-depth looks at Mr. White, The Edge, and Jimmy Page’s relationships with the six-stringed instrument. Jack recorded the song immediately to two-track, all while being filmed for the documentary in the attic of the Fly Farm. Some astute viewers may recognize this attic room as the same used by Jim Jarmusch in his video for the Raconteurs’ “Steady As She Goes.” Fly Farm Blues is released on a special one-sided 45 RPM vinyl 7-inch by Third Man Records and on iTunes in conjunction with Sony Pictures Classics and the release of the feature documentary It Might Get Loud screened at selected theaters starting August 14th, 2009, and then coming soon to a town near you.
