King Creosote - No-One Had It Better

No-One Had It Better by King Creosote

4...according to our on Thu 20 Aug, 2009.

I thought King Creosote was this Scottish dude who made folk music but after listening to his new 7" No One Had It Better on Domino I'm nothing but confused. Fucking confused in fact. It's got a mental wonky IDM off kilter sounding beat and it's not a million miles away from the burgeoning turtle bass scene which is soon going to literally blow all of your collective tits off. Here KC does his vocals over this crazy beat and it sounds a million miles away from what I've heard by him before. I kind of like this though I'm not sure why and if I actually do like it or not. There... I defy you to find a more confused sounding sentence. It's a remix if that goes anyway to explaining the last few lines. He;s got a nice crown on the cover though so he really must be a king. Glad that one's cleared up.

This is the first 7” to be taken from King Creosote’s much lauded new album on
Domino, ‘Flick The V’s’.

New hotshot producer Bullion remixes one of the album’s highlights
‘No-One Had It Better’ and twists the song into some new, fresh
and summery shapes.

Bullion has recently been garnering much Radio 1 attention from
Zane Lowe, Mary Anne Hobbs and Annie Mac.

On the B-side in a surreal twist on the cover version, King
Creosote himself covers the remix.

Both tracks are exclusive to this release.
