ATP's most recent signing, Sleepy Sun are on a mission to re-invent 70's era, deep fried, psychedelic rock. New single 'Sleepy Son' is a slow burning number that plays on the San Francisco psyche sound with unfazed enthusiasm. It's got bad ass wah wah solo's and a big old rock riff to keep that head nodding. The subtle moments almost sound like The For Carnation but the chorus is pure Lad Zeppelin/Black Sabbath. It's probably the best i've heard from the band so far yet, like many of the bong rocking groups that are doing the rounds at the moment, they are clearly forty years too late!! Sleepy Sun would be packing enormo-domes with Pardo Pond if there was any rock justice in the world. The B-side is called 'Sandstorm woman' which is probably all you need to know. It's a spaced out blues rock number that brings to mind 'On the Beach' era, stoned of his bonce Neil Young stuff. It's got a harmonica solo and everything!! Mongy stoner rock for mongy stoners. Peace.* Limited to 1000 copies only worldwide on coloured vinyl.
