Hey hey!!! Here we've got 'High Time Remix', five re-mixes from Pit Er Pat's 2008 release 'High Time'. I'm a big fan of the band but last years LP seems to have passed me by somehow. This i regret as Pit Er Pat are going from strength to strength and these re-mixes are sounding top. 'The Ciaro shuffle' remixed by Brenmar is a tropical multi-tap delay-dream. It's got brassy electro synths and makes nice use of the original bassline. 'Trod-a-long' by Butchy Fuego has a dancehall feel with some bombastic cut up beats topped off with a trippy re-working of the vocal, it's a winner. 'Evacuation days' is given the wonky yet sparce dancehall treatment from Nguzunguzu. It sounds a little like High Places and is kinda tubby dubby? If you know what i mean. 'Trod-a-long' is reworked again on the B-side, this time by The Urxed. It's a repeato fest of drum loops and splashing cymbals complimented by an extremely minimal melody line. Again, it's swell dub! Tropical Dub! Lucky Dragons finish things of with the most impressive of the five mixes. 'The good morning song' is surprisingly banging! I was expecting lo-key tropical minimalism but instead i'm treated to a heavily layered and treated afro-techno workout. Lucky Dragons really make the most of Pit Er Pat's percussive skills and add some lovely marimba melodies. It's mint. It's all mint. Check it out. I'm gonna go track down a copy of 'High Time' right now. Cheers lads!Limited to 300 Hand Numbered Copies!!
