Viudmoth - Stories of Cougnaman

Viudmoth are a crazy instrumental duo from France who just wanna have fun, or at least that's the impression i get from listening to their new three inch CD 'Stories of Cougnaman'. These guys are really playful in their approach to song writing. They've got a lot in common with the likes of Mr. Bungle as well as Liverpool underground eccentrics A.P.A.T.T and Balloons! Electronically precise and strangely quirky these tunes are proper monkey madness!! 'E E' is a good example of the crazy head space they must inhibit! It leaps and bounds! It runs around in circles like a dog trying to catch it's own tail. It's both accomplished and ridiculous at the some time. Ultimately a lot of fun to listen too if you enjoy the playful nature of music and want to bask in it's daftness. Alright!!!

"this is utterly mad. No seriously, this is bonkers! imagine, say, Mr.Bungle had one too many and ended up in a facefirst nosedive into team doyobi’s irratic sonics having nicked a drum kit from the 70’s….er….sorry, still not close. One mate described it as a sonic version of Ray Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes” if filmed as a Clownsploitation Opera….You’d better have a listen to this ep the crazy french duo, Viudmoth, had crafted."
