Helado Negro - Awe Owe

Awe Owe by Helado Negro

Helado Negro is one Robert C Lange. You'll have previously heard his work as one of Savath And Savalas, alongside Guillermo Scott Herren. This is his debut album as Helado Negro and it draws on a huge variety of influences - Funkadelic, Arthur Russell, Julio Jaramillo, Adrian Sherwood and various visual and sound artists such as Christian Marclay and David Ellis. Pushed to describe the sound of Awe Owe, one might say it was explorational Latin music but that would be doing the record a disservice as it jumps sounds & boundaries with the most simple if ideas. Despite the genre moving & experimental nature of the record, this is a truly listenable experience; one might even say the perfect soundtrack to summer evenings.
