Shannon and the Clams are awesome!!! "Hunk hunt" is totally fucked up!! Yes!!! This collection of tunes sounds so rough and ready you can taste the rancid surf beats as they ooze from the speakers. 'Blood' is a fast and furious surf rock number that distorts like crazy as it attempts to escape the constraints of the hi-fi system. Title track 'Hunk hunt' sounds like the kinda of dramatic balladry Jack White would insist on producing and adding his daft vocal strains and silly widdly solos too....ooohhhh Jackie boy, Jackie boy. The second side delivers more of the same. Both tunes are dramatic and charming fifties rock'n'roll pastiche's that sound like they were recorded in a trash can. I'd suggest they were recorded in a wheelie bin but those modern council wheelie's probably have better acoustics than the room these songs we're recorded in. Ace trashiness indeed! It's worth it for the cover depicting Hamburger-man and yeti face dude in all there splendor and glory. Smart as fuck yo!Shannon & the Clams - Hunk Hunt 7"
