Ooooh this Offthesky + Darren Mcclure collaborative/split effort 'Suspended' is sounding really bloody nice from the off. A brief overview of a couple of tracks is all that's needed being that you all got sexy soundclipz an' all. I hear some tasty chinking spiralling percussion with a humming drone below, and sweet loops mixed with some ambience & hazy laptop glitch starting the set off beautifully. They've composed 4 tracks apiece, Mr McClure shooting off ahead first with this amazing title track, Mr Sky (Jason Corder) investigating more sleepy sound design folds, the woozy ambient synth being the perfect backdrop to the Machinefabriek-esque cyber chirruping. It's a really quality CD is this, like most on Symbolic Interaction. A lot of this sound art stuff can just descend into indulgent nothingness if enough love & thought isn't liberally applied. However there's more than enough great stuff happening here to ensure a relaxed smile from this man when he gets this CD home. In glossy G/fold package innit.
