The Crack Babies - Smoking at Gas Stations

Smoking at Gas Stations by The Crack Babies

Hello there. Here's a CD by The Crack Babies on Odd Box Records called Smoking At Gas Stations. I can understand why you shouldn't smoke at gas stations but can't you use a phone? I've never understood that? or maybe no one has explained to me why you can't! This is one of a number of CD's in this week on the Odd Box label which is ran by those folks at Lost Music. It's a 7 track CD full of songs which are completely indebted to the Mary Chain. If you don't go back that far then Crystal Stilts but this is pure Mary Chain territory with slow simple drums, masses of ear crushing feedback, reverb laden vocals low in the mix and some sweet melodies. It's like going back in time I tell you. It's not bad either and as far as pastiches go they do it pretty well!

“incredibly blown out shoegazy noise…landing them in the same area as fellow past limit pushers Skywave” – Built on a Weakspot

“lo-fi, feedback driven scorching sound” – Indie-MP3
