Sound clips for Binary Code Forbidden, by Amaurote (CD, Minimal Resource Manipulation, MRMCDR10, £4.99)
What their label says...
Amaurote is a new pseudonym for Czech Republic resident Joey Frohikey. He runs his own website, www.idiology.com and co-founded the excellent Cryoworks netlabel in 2006. As well as writing and producing music he is also fluent in a plethora of different computer disciplines including graphic design and creating his own software. He currently lives in Prague in the shadow of the mighty Zizkov tower. “Binary Code Forbidden” (MRMCDR10)is Frohikey’s first release under the Amaurote moniker and his debut for MRM. A compelling mix of Autechre-ish beats and textures, disembodied voices and forlorn melodies, this superb 4 track EP is, at times, reminiscent of some of the early Sahko recordings. A treat from start to finish.
