New Education - Another Miracle

Another Miracle by New Education

3...according to our on Fri 10 Jul, 2009.

If you bought records in the '80's you will know the name Howie Weinberg. Similarly in the '90's you will know of Frank Arkwright. So they've really splashed out on the mastering engineers for this New Education 7" called 'Another Miracle'. Its a DIY effort with hand numbered sleeves on the Kids imprint. The A side is anthemic rock a bit like Doves. Not unpleasant actually.

New Education will release their new single, 'Another Miracle', on 13 July 2009 through Kids Records, the label that launched The Wombats, The Whip, Iliketrains and Band of Horses. Produced by Chris Potter (The Verve) and mixed by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand), the track is further testament to New Education's ability to produce soaring, anthemic tunes that offer escapism from everyday drudgery. Released on Ltd 7" vinyl (500 copies only), 'Another Miracle' is the follow-up to their sold-out debut single 'Today', released in October 2008.

New Education were formed by Brothers Ryan Dooley (vocals, guitar) and Jack Dooley (bass, backing vocals) in January 2008, along with long-time friends David Cartwright (guitar) and John Bradbury (drums). Influenced by bands like Oasis, The Cure and The Clash, Ryan writes gritty, assured rock songs which the band describe as the sound of "the midlands calling".

The band have earned a devoted and ever-growing following in their native Stoke-On-Trent in a very short space of time, with rowdy gigs at The Sugarmill and the Underground cementing their local fanbase. In the past six months the band have worked hard to spread their sound across the UK, supporting the likes of The Holloways, Detroit Social Club, The Twang and Peter Doherty, and are increasingly gaining fans and recognition as one of Britain's most promising new rock bands. They recently completed a 12-date tour of the UK with The Rifles, which included a particularly rowdy sold-out show at London's Roundhouse.
