2562 - Love In Outer Space/ Third Wave

Love In Outer Space/ Third Wave by 2562

tracks:  a: Love In Outer Space  b: Third Wave
'Love In Outer Space' and 'Third Wave' mark a significant return by 2562 to Tectonic with the first plate to touch down since his highly aclaimed
'Aerial' LP, released last year. Following a matchless series of twelve inch bombs: ‘Techno Dread’, ‘Channel Two’, ‘Kameleon’, we’ve enjoyed drop after
drop after massive drop from this vanguard talent. ‘Aerial’ is still reaching and inspiring new audiences worldwide daily - it was charted heavily in
multiple end of year 'Best Of 2008' charts as 2562's exceptional balance of deep hypnotic soundscapes, space funk bouncing grooves and
soundsystem crushing basslines caught the attention of Djs, producers, reviewers and ravers alike. Not forgetting his parallel outings as A Made Up
Sound and a whole avalanche of transformational remixes; put quite simply Dave Huismans impresses almost incrementally with every production.
Both tunes made their debut in dubplate form on the stellar Pinch mix which graced the second disc of the fresh and dangerous Tectonic Plates 2
double compilation.
‘Love In Outer Space’ is one sneaky manoeuvre - a warped synth hook that rattles round your skull, taking you further into the outer limits…a woozy
intergalactic machine funk trip - the way the rhythm of the 808 beat falls over itself sounds like it generates some kind of perpetual motion like a moon
buggy with square wheels. In comes a laser like stab - almost arpegiated - adding to the disorientation of the beats and bass, before an alien sounding
chord sequence punches through, bringing the whole composition together. It's as groundbreaking and disorienting as 2001: A Space Odyssey and
marks a distinctive shift in sound and style from 2562's more techno based productions of last year. Once again Huismans manages to reinvent the
sound he was fundamental in creating. Big support from Kode 9 and many more..
‘Third Wave’ is a more accessible 4/4 roller but is no less rewarding for it.…total genius. What more can we say! Having torn up dancefloors
worldwide in the hands of main players Martyn, Appleblim, Peverelist and many others, this energising rhythm, painted with colourful sonics and
emotive chord changes sounds like Herbie Hancock hitting up a dubstep fix - you know you just need this!
Dare we say this is Dave's finest work to date - 2562 - that's our number.
