*Both tracks reissued for the first time * Features the original picture sleeves * Guaranteed to fill any 60s dance floor! * Limited Edition of 500 copies.
L
os Gatos Negros from Barcelona made their first recordings for Belter, although they later signed for Marbella, a subsidiary of Vergara, the label that finally released most of their material. For his sixth 45 on Vergara, in 1968 they recorded “Hey, Hey Bunny”, which had been a hit for US combo
John Fred & His Playboy Band a few months earlier. With its piercing Hammond and powerful horn section, this track is a highlight of any party where 60s Spanish music is played. On the flipside, “El Sol Es Una Droga” is a track that perfectly links the summer heat with dance music.

We know very little about its authors, Los Kifers. They released two singles on Vergara. “El Sol Es Una Droga” was the A-side of the first one, and it’s a composition by Ronald Simmonds that was also recorded by The Explosion.
