Blind Willie Johnson - If I Had My Way I'd Tear The Building Down

If I Had My Way I'd Tear The Building Down by Blind Willie Johnson

Texas born Blind Willie Johnson is one of the most talented bottleneck guitar players to have ever lived, beginning to play with self-made instruments like a cigar box guitar when he was 5. Performing a blues style that often borders on spiritual, Johnson always took great inspiration from religious music, as shown in songs like, “Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed”, “Jesus Is Coming Soon” and all throughout this compilation taken from his 1927-1930 recording sessions with Columbia.
