I don't think I've heard Official Secrets Act before. I'm not sure if this 7" of Bloodsport remixes is a good place to start but it's been on for about 40 seconds and it's pooing me out. I think it might be quite a good song but I can't past the fact it sounds like Erasure and that's as far as I'll go with this one. My interest is reasonably piqued though and I wouldn't mind hearing the original.... Didn't fancy the Filthy Dukes mix either...Third single following their critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Bloodsport’ sees Official Secrets Act stepping towards dark, haunting and bewitching territories.
• One of the most ambitious tracks on their debut album‘Understanding Electricity’, the band chose ‘Bloodsport’ as third single after drummer Alex McKenzie’s cycling accident two months ago, feeling the necessity to release something more evocative and brooding. While McKenzie has now made a full recovery, he spent the last 8 weeks off the road, forcing the band to improvise and challenge themselves more.
• 7” includes ‘Bloodsport’ mixed by Liam Howe (Sneaker Pimps) and a Filthy Dukes remix which was streamed exclusively on nme.com.
