Nadja
Clinging to the Edge of the Sky

This record left our Ant feeling happy.
It seems barely a week goes by without an Aidan Baker project arriving for our listening pleasure. He's an extremely prolific artist. Where does he find the time to cook his tea? He must either live on Pot Noodles or have his very own personal chef... This week we have a lovely looking single sided etched LP from Nadja, released on Messer. Recorded in Berlin March 2009 'Clinging To The Edge Of The Sky' has Leah Buckareff laying down some gentle and considered bass, They're in gentle restained mode here and it sounds great. There'res a spacious sense of minimalism with emotive waves flowing from the reverb. Sold out at source.

What their label says...
As you see its a busy summer in the ADAGIO830 HQ - we got another new release this week. Its a split label release between Vendetta & Adagio830 (aka XMESSERX records)
after NADJA moved to berlin, germany and became neighbors of ours we decided to release a record wich was recorded in berlin, with artwork done by a swede living in berlin ( www.hlg.se ) , on two berlin based labels ( adagio830 & vednetta ) , so here we go...
'Clinging To The Edge Of The Sky' sees Nadja taking a new (and unexpected) direction. It is not the Nadja most people are used to. It is a more scaled down, minimalistic and naked sound. There is almost a total lack of distortion, and it is not as heavy or noisy as most of their earlier releases. One song, spanning 16 minutes, takes you on a sad and slow journey. It is hypnotic, it is soothing. It is Nadja! Comes with a laser etched B-side.
