We Were Promised Jetpacks - Roll Up Your Sleeves

Roll Up Your Sleeves by We Were Promised Jetpacks

We Were Promised Jet Packs sound like they have a bright future ahead of them. I heard the album a month or so back so I'm already familiar with single 'Roll Up Your Sleeves'. It's a little groover of a tune with a commendably fuzzy guitar tone and a confident vocal line that reminds of the Editors vocalist. The ending gets all whimsical and drifty until it disappears, which is nice. B-side 'Back To The Bare Bones' is a good time romp of a number. Riffs rise and collide, the drummer keeps a frantic and persistent beat and the bass line hold the melody nicely. It's a bit of wig-out in We Were Promised Jetpacks and works really well.
