I can't believe no-one ever thought to call their band Girls, it seems like the obvious choice. Christopher Owens and JR White have not only picked out a fine band name, they are also responsible for this excellent self released single 'Hellhole Ratrace' b/w 'Solitude'. 'Hellhole Ratrace' is a slow burner of a tune that revolves around a simple vocal motif reinforced with layers of saturated guitars, vocal echo's and smatterings of percussion and drums. It reminds me of Glasvegas or Liverpool shoe gazers Ambulance and i like it. 'Solitude' sounds like a 50's rock'n'roll ballad with elements of country thrown into the mix. Again, it's a strong and ambitious number with echo's of Richard Hawley and Elvis Costello. It's dreamy nice.

need somewhere between happy and ecstatic - bit clunky at first but VERY good - sort of spaced yet purposeful... - where can I download it?
