Peter Broderick - Five Film Score Outtakes

Our single of the week (12th June 2009)

Five Film Score Outtakes by Peter Broderick

It was only last week that I reviewed a Peter Broderick soundtrack (for modern dance performance piece 'Music For Falling From Trees') and now he's at it again with a handful of leftover compositions entitled 'Five Film Score Outtakes'. After writing and recording too much material to accompany a short film by Matt Clark, Broderick was left with a selection of recordings deemed too worthy to be shelved so here we have a Norman Records exclusive!!! Five instrumental tracks on a 3 inch disc packaged in a hardback style mini book sleeve with the attention to detail you'd expect from Secret furry hole records. I have to say I'm enjoying this more so than 'Music for falling from trees' which I was initially well pleased with, so that means this must be mint!! 'Five Film Score Out Takes' makes beautiful use of grand piano, cello, acoustic guitars and some ambient elements that I'm assuming were produced using a computer. It's incredibly tranquil and serene, perfect for a sunday afternoon in the garden. Contrasting elements and compositional genius in full swing, Broderick is finding consistent form with every new project. We have fifty copies of this baby available and that's it, it's gone. Limited to 200 copies in the world yo!!!

written, performed and recorded by peter broderick. march 2009.
made with love using piano, violin, cello, guitar and laptop.

in march 2009 i was asked by matt clark to create the score for his new short film. i recorded a lot of music for the film, and ended up with quite a few extra pieces that were not used in the final cut. among those extra pieces were these five little songs -- myspace.com/peterbroderick
