OK den.. Gareth Davis and Martin Stig Anderson are into rabbits at the moment, so much so they've made a box set out of them. Rabbit At the Airport I is a 12", Rabbit At the Airport II is a 12" and Rabbit At the Airport III is an LP, although the LP is the only one not packaged in a gatefold sleeve which is a bit weird. Plus you can buy them all together in a handsome red envelopey box set thing! We've only got time to play one of the 12"s (the first one) but from that I'll have to assume that they're all chock full of clangy ambient droney oddness, interestingly used field recordings and interloping sound spikes poking through at unexpected moments. What we've heard sounds really cool, I imagine if you ingested the whole lot you'd be fully in another place.. It's well otherworldly.A collaboration between sound artists Martin Stig Andersen and Robin Rimbaud (aka Scanner) and clarinetist Gareth Davis, involving heavy vinyl, heavy sleeves and, so we´ve heard, a 1930s gramophone. Hushed ambient soundscapes, muffled beats and cathartic bombast in sprawling, noir tracks, each paired with spacious remixes from Scanner. Artwork by Ballinger.
