Ginz & Joker - Purple City/Re-Up

Purple City/Re-Up by Ginz & Joker

This next installment from Joker’s Kapsize imprint promises to be even bigger than the last plate ‘Do It’ / ‘Psychedelic Runway’, as both sides send shock waves that reach beyond dubstep once again. Both Joker and Ginz (previously working under the names 30Hz, P. Dutty, Emptyset and one half of The Body Snatchers) pool their talents for this huge release. ‘Purple City’ is one of the biggest tunes you will hear in 2009, a rhythm that crosses boundaries effortlessly, with turbo charged G-Funk flavours, chunky square-wave bendy bass and rolling carnival drums, all perfectly executed... rave funk – served extra greeeezy! Flipside ‘Re-Up’ is an off-the-wall crunked out adventure in 8-bit bleep space, with all the energy and intensity of 100 eight year old kids with A.D.D. on a school trip to sherbet factory. Somehow that energy is held together with an effortless cool as if Jack Nicholson was head teacher for the trip. Quality aqua-crunk that is shaping the sound of now.
