Groove Diggerz - Money for Good Times

Money for Good Times by Groove Diggerz

Nearly two years in the making the Groove Diggerz debut artist album is finally complete and ready to be unleashed on the public. Rob Savage and gang have produced some mind blowing instrumentals with some of the hottest up and coming vocalists in the industry bringing you a truly unique sound. Winners of the 2007 Breakspoll Breakthrough Producer award, Groove Diggerz have managed to break into the mainstream without selling out or compromising their sound. Their music ebbs and flows throughout ‘Money For Good Times’ ; soothing instrumentals backed by deep harmonious vocals, live funk break beats, fat house riffs, big bass and more vocals. This is a genre basher for sure and a hard one to pigeonhole by even the larkiest of reviewers. ‘Just Be Good To Me’ is a cover version of the S.O.S. Band classic also made famous in 1989 with Beats International and Lindy Layton. The Diggerz managed to get Lindy Layton on their version as she loved it so much. DJ Magazine’s 4.5/5 review calls it “perfectly judged so that it’s just accessible enough to get everybody up and dancing while still featuring enough freaky noises and growly bass for the headz”. Lindy is joined by regular Diggerz MC Ronnie Black, who puts his usual magic touch in place. You can also hear the luscious Lindy on ‘Body Flow’ and  ‘Weirdness’. Princess Jewels remarkable singing talent shines through on this album with her signature sound no one could ever imitate. Ronnie adds his unique dub influenced sound to the album and even Rob gets in on the vocal action laying down some pretty clever harmonies. New and exciting signing AKA-Fella is the latest vocal recruit to join the Diggerz - featured on ‘One Love’ and ‘Body Flow’, this talented vocalist and songwriter is definitely one to watch out for. MC Manic features on the first track ‘Ultrafunkula’ for which he wrote and performed the lyrics. It is a smooth flowing catchy track that gets the album off to a great start. And 'Don't Be Fooled again' is a 'Big Chill' style downtempo track which features the amazing vocal talent of Sophie Barker from Zero 7. Personally endorsed by Laurent Garnier, who promises to play tracks from the album throughout his big summer shows, Groove Diggerz recent single ‘Funky Heroes’ was given a 9/10 “Top Tune” review in IDJ, and further press will come from DJ Mag (Record of the Month), M8, Time Out, The Guardian, Music Week and others. Regular radio supporters include Annie Nightingale, Rob da Bank, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Ras Kwame. Groove Diggerz have also just been confirmed to remix the new Dub Pistols single, and their full live band experience will be on tour in the coming months, including Glade and Beautiful Days festivals. In addition, Rob will be one of the featured DJs at Glastonbury, and a BBC Radio live session has just been recorded, due to air soon.
