Blank Dogs - Waiting

Blank Dogs sound pretty good from what I've heard. They're new single 'Waiting' In the Red seems buried in early 80's UK new wave music. The vocals are well Joy Division and the guitars are scratchy and pleasing. It sounds like it's been recorded on a tape machine reckons Business lady.. she knows about such things. Tapes and machines and that. Underneath the scratchy noise is a massively poppy tune bursting out which is doing the biz on 2nd listen. Well spunky!

To coincide with the release of Blank Dogs’ Under and Under double-LP, In The Red has issued this companion single featuring two exclusive tracks. “Waiting” finds the band drifting ever closer to C-86 Brit-pop terrain and incorporates more guitar than synth. Stereogum says, “It’s like Joy Division vocal lines with The Cure’s synth and guitar melodies filtered through ancient submerged keyboards and eroded recording equipment.
