Garret Baker - Fading Fast

Fading Fast by Garret Baker

Urgh, there's something well sinister about the sleeve for this self-released CD from Dublin's Garret Baker. I don't like the look in that fox's eyes. 'Fading Fast' is a collection of modern-sounding folk, generally just voice and guitar, that veers towards the darker, more introspective side of things and occasionally reminds me of Leonard Cohen in the tone and meter of his words. A very promising debut I dare say!

Fading Fast is the debut album from Dubliner Garret Baker, a published
novelist and playwright, who took to the guitar and performing late in
life. The songs range from tales of a drink and drug ravaged
underbelly of a town, to dark romantic ballads, and the album has been
described as having 'beautifully crafted haunting folk songs' (Road
Records) and 'character, class and charm' (Hot Press.)
