I'm pretty sure I've written some words about White Denim in the past, I can't remember what though. I'm getting by on a small amount of brain cells these days. 'Fits' I think is their second album for Full Time Hobby. It combines elements of 60's psychedelic rock, with a bit of a garage/ blues feel. They're a pretty rockin bunch actually and they can certainly belt out that good time rock'n roll. The drumming is all over the place, I reckon they got an octopus on drums. Some pretty wild moments on here and they totally got their sound nailed. Business lady is reminded at various points of Groundhogs and even Blue Cheer. Here they've taken past influences, thrown a few of their own ideas into the brew and come out with a record that may well appeal to both younger and older listeners alike. I cant believe I just wrote that last sentence. I'm gonna have to punch myself in the face. From thunderous prog and psyche to tender blue eyed soul, White Denim’s
highly-anticipated new album is packed with instantly memorable songs.
· ‘Fits’ is an explosive album of garage, psyche and
soul carrying on from where ‘Workout Holiday’
left off but leading you into a completely new world.
