Various - Tiptoe Records Compilation Album

Tiptoe Records Compilation Album by Various

Tip toe records is a friendly little indie label based in York and Leeds. It was founded in March 2008 by Dominic Deane. Originally the label was set up as a promotion night to run a string of alternative monthly gigs in the city of Leeds. The aim of the label is to release quality music, from the North and South of England and to help bands and artists to release the best records they can possibly produce.

The labels first release was by ‘Out of the Afternoon’ 'The Bird EP'  a short run of 500 pressed on CD in April 2008, this received impressive reviews and was praised both locally and nationally, mostly notable by  BBC DJ’s Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinsons ‘Fresh on the Net’ program, who both championed the band.

The Label’s second release is a very limited-edition compilation album due for release at the end of May 2009. Released on 27th May, the CD will be restricted to just 200 copies, all of which will come with brown recycled cardboard sleeves. The CD will be available from the following record shops: Rough Trade, Pure Groove, Action Records, Spiller Records, Jumbo Records and Norman Mail Order.

The compilation will feature the following bands: The Old Romantic Killer Band, The Bear Driver, Out of the Afternoon, Essay Like Nephew, Peasman, King Alexander, Yonderboy, Just Handshakes (We're British), Red Trees, The Tailors, Fists, Travels by Telephones, Swimming, Crayon, Ten, and Love Ends Disaster.
