Little Boots - Hands

Hands by Little Boots

Little Boots (aka 24 year-old Blackpool native Victoria Hesketh) is proud to announce the release of her debut album 'Hands' on June 8th 2009 through 679/Atlantic.

2008 was an eventful year for Ms Hesketh. What started as a bit of fun (recording 'funtimes' covers in her pyjamas) eventually led to homepage exposure on YouTube, racking up more than 250,000 views overnight and her artist profile being the most viewed in the UK.

In November '08, Jools Holland's producer booked a virtual unknown for what would become one of the most intriguing performances of the year. The only female to perform on the night (alongside heavyweights Al Green, The Killers & Damon Albarn), Victoria wowed the audience with her effortless skill: singing, playing three instruments (piano, Stylophone and her beloved Tenori-on), throwing in handclaps for good measure.

After all of the excitement and activity of the past 18 months, Little Boots' debut album 'Hands' is finally ready for devouring. 12 tracks and 42 minutes of pulse-racing, heart-felt crystalline dance pop and best of all: the album lives up to the hype. Kicking off with the upcoming Greg Kurstin-produced single 'New In Town', 'Hands' contains a carefully chosen selection of her 'early' tracks ('Click', 'Earthquake', 'Mathematics', 'Meddle' and 'Stuck On Repeat') as well as some brand new tunes that are guaranteed to be massive (listen to 'Remedy' now!). The end result is a pop album that rises above the rest; one that contains universal melodies sung with heart-felt passion.

"Pop music is the most challenging thing I can do" Victoria says. "To make something that reaches across so many boundaries is just incomprehensible, like space. The places pure pop can take you are limitless".
