Gran Ronde - Secret Rooms

Secret Rooms by Gran Ronde

Gran Ronde’s  stunning debut album Secret Rooms features 10 superb tracks of soaring melodies, impassioned vocals, killer guitars and a singular vision and will delight fans of Interpol, The Editors and The Cure. Secret Rooms is also the highly anticipated debut album release from FriendsvsRecords set up by Pip Newby and home to the hotly tipped Dinosaur Pile Up and Soft Toy Emergency
Secret Rooms launches with “On and On,” its chiming guitars and pulsing rhythms introducing the band’s upbeat, dark rock. “That’s the song that I think most defines us as a band,” singer/guitarist Chris Pearson says. “It’s not the most mainstream but musically it’s everything we are about.” Over the course of the album, the band covers diverse territory from radio ready romp “Say Say Say,” complete with a peanut butter-sticky chorus, to “Gold,” a slow psychedelic gem that begins with an intriguing, ghostly keyboard line. “Wisdom” is all jangly guitars and lovelorn sentiment. The California based band recorded Secret Rooms in Los Angeles studios Hollywood Sound and Hangar 1018 alongside producer/mixer Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon) and James Bairian (Giant Drag, Dirty Little Secret).
Shortly after recording the album, Gran Ronde were invited by Razorlight to support them on their North American tour. The band piled into a mini SUV and drove from L.A. to Boston in 36 nonstop hours to perform for sold out crowds including Irving Plaza in New York City. And they are now ready to do the same in the UK.
