DJ Kaos - Love The Nite Away

Love The Nite Away by DJ Kaos

DJ Kaos’s debut release on the Rong/DFA imprint could be described as a disco/rock hybrid reminiscent of Daniele Baldelli with its rough male vocal sound and “I Feel Love”-style disco acid bass-line. Also included on this 12-inch single is an instrumental version for extended DJ mixing capabilities. On the flip is a Balearic version of the original supplied by the Swedish band Tiedye, who recently came to the public’s attention for the work they did on Italians Do It Better (home of Glass Candy and Chromatics). Their mix will undoubtedly be an instant classic among the world-wide bearded disco brethren. With its mellow piano and live bass added to the original vocal, the song is made anew and floats along in a blissful, spaced-out groove. DJ Kaos is an integral part of the Berlin underground scene, having produced twisted dance music for a number of years now. His first single was a collaboration with Ash Ra Temple’s Manuel Goettsching (of E2-E4 fame). The 12-inch, released in 1997 when Kaos was part of downtempo scene leaders Terranova, was called “Toyko Tower.” He’s performed all over the globe and has released original music on seminal dance labels Eskimo, Kitsune, and Playhouse, as well as early singles for Rong Music and now Rong/DFA. His remixes are in high demand and he’s worked with everyone from !!! to Roxy Music to the New Young Pony Club. Kaos took part in the exclusive K7 Records DJ Kicks series with his eclectic mix released in 1995 (with Terranova) as well as his full-length solo LP released on K7 in 2005. He also participated in the Faith Records Collectors Series with a mix CD entitled Danse, Gravite Zero, created with Sal Principiato of the legendary NYC group Liquid Liquid.
