breakdowns, clean ups and the dizzy swell of global success, Placebo are still brimming

• Recorded over three months by producer Dave Bottrill (chosen by the band largely because
of his work with Tool) in his Toronto studio and mixed in London by My Bloody Valentine,
Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails supremo Alan Moulder, Placebo’s sixth
album is a startling, alive, vital and boundary-vaulting record that marks a whole
new era for a band that were in need of a change.
• After the huge success of their free title track giveaway (over 100,000 downloads
from placeboworld.co.uk) and single ‘For What It’s Worth’ receiving support from Zane
Lowe, Jo Whiley, Colin Murray at Radio 1 and playlists on 6 Music, XFM and
Absolute Xtreme, the band look set for a massive summer in the UK and Europe.
• The band kick off a summer of headline festival dates with a small UK tour of warm up shows,
taking in Bournemouth, Sheffield and London 02 Acadamies. The band return for Rockness
and Reading and Leeds Slots shortly after.
• ‘Battle For The Sun’ is available on limited edition CD/DVD (10,000 copies;
featuring casebound book style packaging and a live DVD), CD, vinyl LP and digital
download.
