Please welcome; the band that never stops. After releasing their debut album, The Golden Spike to a wealth of acclaim across the board, Sky Larkin continue their assault on the UK and beyond with new single Antibodies this May. A successful tour curated by Huw Stephens saw the band playing to thousands of new fans over a two week period, as well as bringing fellow Leeds party-noise heroes Pulled Apart By Horses to the fore. It continued to snowball from there.
The band has most recently returned from a successful headline tour in Europe and, never ones to settle for a minute, are now rocketing off to spend 5 weeks in America where The Golden Spike will be released on 14th April. After shows in LA, a heavy duty schedule at SXSW and a full US tour with Los Campesinos!, Sky Larkin will return to the UK for shows with The Rakes followed by their own headline dates in May.
New single Antibodies follows on from the innovative wristwatch format of preceding single Beeline – Antibodies will be released on a limited edition C60 cassette - with Side A containing the single track, 4 remixes of various album tracks (all also available for download), while Side B will have three exclusive new pieces of content – each one curated by an individual band member.
Lead singer Katie speaks of Antibodies: "It’s a devotional song about distance written whilst I was obsessed with American earthworks artists like Robert Smithson", this archaeological theme is echoed throughout The Golden Spike.
To mark the individual contributions by Katie, Doug and Nestor, the single will be available with three different covers – each one designed by Jack Hudson, responsible for all their tour artwork and extraordinary t-shirts.
