Turbo Fruits, led by guitarist Jonas Stein of the late, great Be Your Own Pet, are touring the month of March headed to SxSW, road-testing new songs before going into the studio in Nashville in April to record the group's second album.
The band will again be working with engineer / producer Jeremy Ferguson, who produced the Turbo Fruits 2007 debut, and also recorded both of Be Your Own Pet's albums. This time, however, the Turbo Fruits won't be a side project for Jonas, but a full-time concern, and the band has grown from a duo to a three-piece, adding bassist Wes Traylor along with new-ish drummer, Zack Attack.
The album is slated for late summer release. The Turbo Fruits also have a featured live appearance in the upcoming roller-derby movie Whip It!, starring Drew Barrymoore and Ellen (Juno) Page.

"Total tearaway gonzoid punk ..." - Uncut
"ripping  stoned-’70s garage rawk that, amazingly for kids born in the late ’80s, does justice to all their inspirations." - Time Out
"They’re young and a little goofy, but they’re stripped-down, fried, and filthy, and they play music that’s more vital at heart than any number of ‘garage rock revival’ acts. " - Dusted
“Stein exudes an anti-charismatic charm that's just as appealing as the spastic screaming of BYOP's Jemina Pearl…if you're down with thirty-plus minutes of three dudes dropping trou and lighting farts on fire in a garage rock fashion, Turbo Fruits is definitely for you.” - Pitchfork
"you will almost certainly find yourself shaking your ass and singing along to the album..." - Punknews
