Sad Day For Puppets - Unknown Colours

Unknown Colours by Sad Day For Puppets

I quite like this new Sad Day For Puppets CD on Sonic Cathedral called Unknown Colours. It sparked a bit of a debate in the office as we couldn't decide if it was any good or not and I thought it was pretty good for what it is. Sweden's latest new indie poppers have created a slightly shoegazey indie pop opus taking in influences like Catatonia, Lush, Serena Maneesh, Primitives etc and chucked them all into this spangly new pop album of theirs. Deffo more Catatonia than anything else though.... It's good pop music though and if there's one thing they know what they're on in Sweden it's good pop music. There's another band it sounds the spit of and after hearing it twice it evades me which is completly fucking annoying. Well it's nothing new at all but it if you're into good quality shoegazey indie pop and want some more in your life this will make you happy I'm sure....

Sad Day For Puppets’ first single ‘Marble Gods’ was Single Of The Week on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6 Music show, was nominated for Record Of The Week on Radcliffe & Maconie’s Radio 2 programme, and received numerous plays on XFM and NME radio.
Their second single ‘Cherry Blossom’ was spot listed on NME radio, with numerous plays already on 6 Music - Lauren Laverne described them as her “new favourite band”) - and XFM.
