'I am leaving/Moments before sleep' is the new single from Blue Roses....but wait, this has been released before, yeah? Blue Roses is the new guise for Shirley singer/songwriter Laura Groves. This was originally reviewed by beautiful phil whose literary genius i may never surpass in my lifetime so i'll leave you in his more than capable hands...........'Gently does it. Laura Groves is a singer songwritery lady who makes a pleasing noise on 'I Am Leaving' which reminds me a bit of Joanna Newsom but more kooky and twee indie sounding. It has a high twinkle factor despite it being largely played on acoustic guitar.... Very nice sounding record though and it will appeal to folks who like Nancy Elizabeth and that kind of shenanigans.' Cheers Phil.
