I kind of ignored the Leisure Society. Having heard this wonderful single I just don't know why. Maybe its the whole Paddy Constatine & Shane Meadows were in them or the Ivor Novello Award thingy. Anyway just ignored them until my dad mentioned them to me the other day. He's often a man of great taste so i listened to the album and its so so marvellous. This song 'Last of the Melting Snow' is certainly a highlight and a deserved single. In fact it made me weep. Yes I cried real tears, pouring down my cheeks on to the 'stock to pull' sheets. I don't know what to compare it to - a bit of Belle & Sebastian, Love, Nick Drake, Fleet Foxes, Tindersticks maybe. Beautiful orchestrated pastoral pop.a: The Last Of The Melting Snow aa: A Matter Of Time
